Polar Rover in the Tundra

We were able to join our friends from Great White Bears Tours on their Polar Rover for a tundra drive through the Churchill Wildlife Management Area.

The Polar Rovers in the tundra

The experience was nothing short of fantastic. Driving on the tundra, there are old military roads that the Polar Rover followed. With its big wheels, it can traverse anywhere. Our kids sat up front with big windows in front of them, offering a panoramic view. Their laughter and excitement filled the air as the rover maneuvered over bumps, pot holes and pools of water. Also as spectacular are the views of the tundra.

Big panoramic views!

The tundra is a treeless landscape but that doesn’t mean it's lifeless. With a variety of hardy plants and animals it’s teeming with life. As we arrived in late August to Churchill, the fireweed had gone to seed and some of the plants were already red. Autumn was here. Driving around with Great White Bear Tours was an unforgettable adventure amidst the vast tundra landscape. Thank you so  much Great White Bear Tours!
